Kim Mo Mi's Catalyst For Change
After turning herself in to the authorities, Kim Mo Mi (Nana) begins her life as a prisoner with a striking reputation that precedes her.
Her life in prison is rough but she doesn't back down when other inmates attack her, making her one of the untouchables in the building.
Kim Mo Mi (Go Hyun Jung) receives her first letter in 2023. It's a newspaper clippings from an article that talks about how her violent genes were inherited by Kim Mi Mo (Shin Ye Seo).
It is sent by Kim Kyung Ja (Yeom Hye Ran) who's still alive. Because of this, her decision to stay as a low profile inmate changes.
Kim Mo Mi Meets Ghost From the Past
Kim Mo Mi plans to escape. However, all of her attempts fail. She is then sent to solitary confinement where she meets Jesus and asks for salvation.
During one of her Bible studies, some churchgoers visit the prison. One of them is Kim Kyung Ja who escaped the sinking car a decade before.

It is revealed that the latter also had surgery in order to escape the police after two dead bodies were found inside her car.
Kim Kyung Ja provokes Kim Mo Mi, saying that she's kept in touch with her daughter as a rice cake vendor. She also reveals that she spread the news about Mask Girl.
Kim Mo Mi then becomes emotional, sending her to her own limits. With their fateful meeting, she becomes more determined to escape prison.
Kim Mo Mi's Deadly Escape
Kim Mo Mi calls her estranged mother and warns her about Kim Kyung Ja. It is revealed that Kim Mi Mo ran away and is now staying at the latter's secluded home.
Despite her sweetness towards the rice cake vendor, Kim Kyung Ja puts a pill in Kim Mi MO's soup to sedate her to complete her plans.
Elsewhere, Kim Mo Mi arrives at the hospital after she promises to donate her kidney to one of the prisoners' daughter.
She uses this as a chance to escape. Kim Mo Mi jumps from the second storey of the building and despite the hard fall, she continues to run.
Meanwhile, Kim Mo Mi's mother quickly drives to Kim Kyung Ja's home to save Kim Mi Mo who's currently in captivity.
Kim Kyung Ja Goes Berserk
When Kim Mi Mo wakes up, she realizes that she's tied up in the basement. Kim Kyung Ja tells her that it's her mother's fault for killing off her son.
In the mountains, Kim Mo Mi begins to hitchhike to Kim Kyung Ja's house. Her mother also arrives at the secluded house and gets into a fight with the other.
Kim Mo Mi reaches the house just in time and bashes Kim Kyung Ja in the head. She then unties Kim Mi Mo, creating a gut-wrenching atmosphere between the mother and daughter duo.
Unfortunately, Kim Kyung Ja is still alive. After killing Kim Mo Mi's mother, she goes for the rest of the family.
Kim Mi Mo Finds Peace
The police arrive at the scene and try to arrest Kim Mo Mi. Everyone is shocked when Kim Kyung Ja aims her gun at Kim Mo Mi.
However, she changes its trajectory and aims at Kim Mi Mo, eager to make Kim Mo Mi feel the pain of losing a child. Unfortunately, Kim Mo Mi blocks the bullet with her own body as the police shoot Kim Kyung Ja.

At the end of the series, Kim Mi Mo finds some tapes of her mother's childhood. She cries her heart out when the young Kim Mo Mi shares her dream: to be loved by everybody.
