Delta Air Lines Responds to Lee Hyeri's Complaint Regarding ‘Absurd’ Flight Experience

Delta Air Lines apologized following the social media rant that Lee Hyeri shared during her experience with the company.

With her Instagram, the actress regularly updates her fans with her vacation photos abroad. However, netizens were surprised after the celebrity called out an international airline for having an unacceptable experience.

Lee Hyeri Criticizes International Airline for Bad Service

Lee Hyeri's Instagram story featured a part of the airline ticket along with a message stating what really happened.

According to her, the international airline downgraded her first-class ticket to economy without offering a refund. Lee Hyeri mentioned in her post that she booked first class one and a half months before the scheduled flight.

"The only option that they offered me was to either fly economy at the price of a first-class ticket or to walk away and wait for the next flight," she wrote.

Frustrated and disappointed with the airline's service, Lee Hyeri calls it "the most absurd experience I've been going through recently."

Although she didn't mention the name of the airline, a snapshot of her flight ticket revealed that it was Delta Air Lines.

After the post blew up in various media outlets and social media, Delta Air Lines responded to the actress' claims.

As obtained by a news outlet, the company explained that the situation happened inevitably as some flights needed to undergo unexpected changes for safe operation.

"As is customary in these cases, Delta will recommend the passenger to board the next available first-class flight or offer the option of refunding the difference in seat price when traveling in economy class," a representative shared.

Moreover, when it comes to remuneration, things like this need to be compensated based on "the amount for the difference is in the process of being refunded."

As for Lee Hyeri's bad experience with the company, Delta Air Lines expressed an apology "for the inconvenience."

In a different report, Maeil Business Newspaper Star Today received a response from the company saying that they escalated the incident to the "relevant department" and will conduct an investigation.

As for questions regarding racial discrimination, the company remained silent and did not make further comments about it.

"There's nothing we can answer at the moment," a representative said.

Lee Hyeri is best known as a member of the all-female group Girl's Day. After being in the group for years, she transitioned into acting with her breakthrough K-drama, the hit series "Reply 1988."

Now, she has a ton of successful projects under her name, which includes "Miss Lee," "My Roommate Is a Gumiho," and "May I Help You."
