In "The Matchmakers" episode 2, Shim Jung Woo (Rowoon) tries to negotiate with Jung Soon Deok (Cho Yi Hyun) to match the three maidens to their future husbands.
'The Matchmakers' Episode 2: Shim Jung Woo Follows the King's Tasks to Consider His Annulment
Shim Jung Woo was appointed as an inspector. He spent time surpassing his teachers while learning medicine to find a cure for his chest pain.
Back in the prison, the guard tried to force him to drink poison. The King pretended to be kind and gave him a chance. The crown prince cannot marry due to the resentment of the old maidens and bachelors.
As a suggestion, the Chief Royal Secretary wanted Shim Jung Woo to help the 3 spinster daughters of the King's old dead friend and he was only given 2 months to do it. If he succeeds, his marriage annulment will be considered, if not, he will die.
It was then revealed that the King had no plans of annulling the marriage as it was the last thing he could do for his deceased daughter.
Meanwhile, Jung Soon Deok appeared in front of Song's daughter to stop the couple from dying. She decided to help them and will take whatever to make the marriage happy.

In contrast, Shim Jung Woo memorized the rites and didn't need to meet the women. He went to the inn to get help from the matchmakers but they just fawn over him and played hard to get. They accept the offer after learning that the customers are the 3 Maeng maidens.
Jung Soon Deok Declines Shim Jung Woo's Partnership
As they examined them, the matchmakers said that Yeo Ju Daek was the only one who could help them.
Jung Soon Deok, on the other hand, came up with a plan. However, Yeo Ju Daek was not happy with Soon Deok's meddling and was sceptical of Song's match. However, unexpected things happened and the chase began. Shim Jung Woo showed up and called them out for PDA. Lee was amused with Jung Woo's help and also apologized for causing a scene.
Jung Soon Deok dreamed again of five years ago regarding a sad romantic story to her husband of a bride waiting for her groom for 20 years. However, while in deep sleep, Jung Woo accidentally entered the house and saw her. She thought he was his husband and touched him. Upon knowing that it was a dream, she realized that Jung Woo was really surprised.
A confused Shim Jung Woo then told his mission to her. They both want to help match the three daughters, but their different beliefs make things complicated.
Shim Jung Woo Tries To Pursue Jung Soon Deok Again
Shim Jung Woo had no choice but to do his mission alone. However, in the middle of doing it, he faced challenges and was in doubt due to an unexpected twist. He then decided to pursue Jung Soon Deok again to team up with him.
He visited Soon Deok, and she thought that Jung Woo would scold her but was surprised when he apologized. She then finally offered her services to him.
