‘The Escape of the Seven’ Episode 17: Uhm Ki Joon & Lee Joon Final Match Begins

"The Escape of the Seven" wrapped up the season with a major cliffhanger from Uhm Ki Joon and Lee Joon's characters. As the episode focused on K's identity, "the seven" faced a challenging quest once again in the hands of Matthew Lee.

From the creators of "The Penthouse: War in Life," the SBS thriller-crime series depicts the story of revenge-driven Matthew Lee, who used Bang Da Mi's death to spark anger, desperation, and the emotions of the people that he wanted to take revenge on.

"The Escape of the Seven" boasted an amazing cast lineup, starting with Uhm Ki Joon, Lee Yoon, Hwang Geum Eum, Lee Yoo Bi, and more.

The series aired every Friday and Saturday via SBS, Viki, and Wavve.

'The Escape of the Seven' Viewership

In a report, Nielsen Korea recorded an impressive increase from its previous episode.

For "The Escape of the Seven" episode 17, the series concluded the season with an average nationwide rating of 6.6 percent. It is a minimal increase of 1.4 percent from the show's 16th episode.

Interestingly, "The Escape of the Seven" will return with season 2, which is set to air sometime in 2024.

As for the cast, SBS has yet to confirm the returning and new cast members joining the sequel.

'The Escape of the Seven' Episode 17 Recap

One of the highlights in "The Escape of the Seven" finale episode was Min Do Hyuk's reunion with his biological father.

After escaping the wrath of Matthew Lee, he was able to save Chairman Sim, who planned to expose everything regarding Sim Jun Seok and Matthew Lee.

Right before the press conference, Chairman Sim told Do Hyuk not to get involved and let him reveal the truth.

Despite his deteriorating health status, the chairman proceeded with his plan and exposed how evil Matthew Lee is. In addition, he revealed that his biological son was indeed Min Do Hyun and pointed out that he was innocent of the crimes being thrown at him.

Unfortunately, after revealing the bombshell news, Chairman Sim died on the spot. As for Min Do Hyuk, he had to finish Matthew Lee or K.

Now that Matthew Lee's evil plans have been exposed, Geum Ra Hee, Cha Joo Ran, and the rest wanted to get out of Korea to start a new life.

Unfortunately, things went in favor of Matthew Lee after he captured all seven. He offered to face their deaths or go with him to be his pawn. All six except Do Hyuk joined hands with Matthew Lee.

As a result, Do Hyuk had to face his death, but thankfully, Kang Ki Tak saved him right before the building exploded.

In the last scene, Kang Ki Tak, who was carrying Do Hyuk, jumped out of the building while Matthew Lee witnessed the burning building.

The question is, how will Kang Ki Tak and Do Hyuk survive the assassination?
