Actress Lee Joo-yeon, formerly a member of the girl group After School, addressed long-standing dating rumors, including those involving G-Dragon, during an appearance on the MBC variety show "Omniscient Interfering View" aired April 18. She also opened up about her past romances and personal experiences.

Lee recalled how the use of contact lenses changed her image, gaining fame as one of the "Top 5 Internet Ulzzangs" in her school days.
She said, "When I was in middle school, my eyesight was poor so I wore reading glasses, but when I went to high school, I started wearing contact lenses. As soon as I did that, I received so much attention and stares that I hadn't been able to get before."
She added that this sudden attention led to entertainment agency representatives gathering in front of her school. "I worked as a magazine model, and then suddenly, I found myself dancing. I wondered if it was fate," Lee shared, according to Naver.

Regarding her time with After School, Lee reflected on her popularity and the dynamics within the group. She stated, "I feel like I would get criticized if I talked about it," but clarified, "There was always at least one male group member who made advances. But it wasn't just me; all the other members were like that," per Ilgan Sports.
Lee also opened up about her family's views on dating. She explained, "My parents used to tell me not to date men. But now that I'm in my 30s and I'm in a relationship, they tell me to date."
However, she confided that she keeps her love life private from her parents. "Actually, I don't really talk about my dating life with my parents. Since they worry, I haven't even introduced [my boyfriend] to them once."
When asked about reasons behind her breakups, Lee gave an honest answer, "I get bored with people easily. Also, I feel like I have to look pretty every day, so I'm more comfortable being with my family," which drew laughter from the studio audience.
Lee Joo-yeon debuted with After School in 2009 and left the group in 2014 to pursue acting, where she remains active today.
