Facebook Messenger 4.0 has released new and exciting features like free calls through Wi-Fi and the group chatting tab.

Users of the world's largest social media platform can now enjoy free calls through the Messenger app.

If you have an available Wi-Fi within the area, you can use that to call your contacts for free.

Data charges will still apply if you opt to do calls using your provider's network signal.

Another improvement in the app is the group chatting tab.

You can know open a group with a customized name, add your friends, then send messages or photos to your chosen contacts.

The forwarding feature is also something to look forward to in this app update. You can easily tap the present message or picture to a contact who is not part of the thread yet.

Conversation shortcuts are also now possible with this version. By using this feature, you can place a shortcut in your home screen if you want to access in an instant a specific thread.

Experience these new features when you update your Facebook Messenger.

The app is free for download for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
