While the cast of "Star Wars: Episode 7" is almost finalized, filming for the movie has already begun.
Earlier this week, Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said that the casting for this installment of "Star Wars" is just about done.
"We have a lot of them [in place]," he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter . "We're just not completely done yet."
Horn mentioned it was quite difficult finishing the "Star Wars" script.
"It's all about the screenplay," he said. "It has to be screenplay, screenplay, screenplay."
When asked if the screenplay is where it needs to be, Horn said, "It actually is now."
After an early draft of the screenplay was written by Michael Arndt, it was co-written by Lawrence Kasdan and J.J. Abrams.
When released in December 2015, "Star Wars: Episode 7" will pick up where 6 left off.
"Where 6 left off is 35 years ago by the time this is released," said Horn.
As part of the Hollywood Masters series at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television in Los Angeles, Horn was interviewed by THR reporter Stephen Galloway. Along with Horn, Alfonso Cuaron, David O. Russell, Judd Apatow, John Singleton, Sherry Lansing, and Friedkin were include in the series.
