There was a stabbing at a high school in Milford, Connecticut today just hours before junior prom.
The New York Daily News reports that the high school stabbing occurred due to a prom dispute.
Friends and witnesses stated that Chris Plaskon shoved his ex-girlfriend Maren Sanchez down the stairs and tried to choke her inside Jonathan Law High School at about 7:15am today.
The boy reportedly used a kitchen knife that he had brought from home and stabbed his ex in the neck.
A friend, who was inside the high school during the stabbing earlier today stated, "She was screaming. There were students in the hallway when it happened. The kids who saw it are all a wreck."
The suspect, who was not officially identified because of his age, was not immediately charged, reports The Los Angeles Times.
Sanchez was found in the stairwell and rushed her to Brideport Hospital, but the teenager was pronounced dead.
The Connecticut student was an active student that was loved by her community.
School Superintendent Elizabeth Feser described Sanchez saying, "She was an athlete, she was in the National Honor Society. She helped out with other athletic teams. She was very well respected and liked."
As news of the Connecticut high school stabbing surfaces, updates were made in regards to the recent Franklin Regional stabbing.
