Hwang Jung Eum, known to some as the "queen of the melodrama" will star in a new 40-episode weekend drama titled "Endless Love."

One reason that she is called the "queen of the melodrama" is that she can cry so convincingly it's heartbreaking. The actress who caused viewers to weep for her sorry fate in last year's melodrama "Secrets" is getting ready for her new role. She already shed a few convincing tears in the initial script readings for "Endless Love."

While Hwang Jung Eum does not need to practice her crying skills, she has been brushing up on her boxing and motorcycle skills. She spent a few hours working on both before the cast met for their first script reading.

"Endless Love" focuses on the life and loves of her character Seo In Ae, taking her from high school to the present day.

Also in the drama's cast are actors Cha In Pyo, Ryu Soo Young, Seo Hyo Rim, Jung Kyung Ho, and Jung Woong In.

Cha In Pyo has not acted in a drama in two years, since he appeared in "Sent From Heaven," but he did have roles in the films "My Boy" and "The Flu." In "Endless Love," he plays Cheon Tae Woong.

Ryu Soo Young was last seen playing a detective in the drama "Two Weeks" and he had a cameo this year in the film "The Attorney." In "Endless Love," he plays Han Gwang Hoon, an ambitious man bent on revenge. He is the great love of Seo In Ae's life and those attending the drama readings say that he and Hwang Jung Eum have great chemistry.

Seo Hyo Rim was last seen in the dramas "The Master's Sun" and "That Winter, The Wind Blows." She plays the wife of Han Gwang Hoon.

Jung Kyung Ho last appeared in the drama "Cruel City" and the films "Manhole" and "Fasten Your Seatbelt." He plays Han Gwang Cheol, Han Gwang Hoon's younger brother. He has always been in love with Seo In Ae.

Jung Woong In, who played villainous roles in both "I Hear Your Voice" and "Empress Ki" will play the role of Park Young Tae.

This will be the 12th drama for Hwang Jung Eum, who debuted as a singer with the girl group Sugar. She is best known for her roles in "Incarnation of Money" and "Giant."

Lee Hyun Jik, who produced "Warrior Baek Dong Soo" and "Tazza" is producing this drama. Na Yeon Sook, who wrote "East of Eden," is the writer.

The weekend drama will air on June 12, replacing "Angel Eyes."
