A recent picture posted on Instagram and various other social media outlets of Willow Smith resting her head on the knee of actor Moises Arias has caused controversy.

Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith are currently being investigated by child protection staff over the photos of their 13-year-old daughter on a bed with a 20-year-old man, according to The Mirror.

"The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services opened the investigation into Will and Jada after the pictures of Willow was posted on social media," a source told Radar Online.

The insider added, "The department received an anonymous tip about the welfare and safety of Willow, based on the contents of the photo."

Social workers will reportedly be speaking with Willow Smith separately regarding the Instagram photo as well as the former "Hannah Montana" actor Moises Arias.

"Will and Jada Pinket Smith have been extremely cooperative with officials. Of course, they aren't happy that their parenting skills are under scrutiny, but they understand," added an insider to the gossip website.

In the black and white photo, Willow Smith is wearing jeans and a shirt, while Arias is sitting beside her shirtless.

Although Arias later deleted the photo with the young singer, it had already begun making the rounds via Instagram and other media outlets.

Jada was very open about how she didn't appreciate the way the photo of her daughter was being viewed by the public.

"Here's the deal, there was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation. You guys are projecting your trash onto it. You're acting like covert pedophiles and that's not cool," stated the actress on May 7.
