Well, the beautiful Maleficent actress simply became a subject of controversy lately after she made comments about film director Ang Lee being a Taiwanese and not a Chinese. It might sound silly for Angelina Jolie's latest news but it caused uproar to Chinese citizens!

Recently on Angelina Jolie and her latest news, the Academy Award winner was asked during a press conference who is her favorite Chinese director, to which she replied with Ang Lee as her favorite director. Ang Lee made note-worthy films such as Brokeback Mountain and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Angelina said: "I am not sure if you consider Ang Lee Chinese, he's Taiwanese but he does many Chinese-language films with many Chinese artists and actors, and I think his works and the actors in his films are the ones I am most familiar with and very fond of."

Because of this, some Chinese citizens attacked the actress via their local social networking website Weibo. One user comments: "By implying that Taiwan and China are two separate countries, in a moment of excitement, a brilliant woman [Jolie] became a stupid laughing stock!"

Some Internet users even suggested that they should boycott Angelina Jolie's films, claiming that those who will continue to support her will be labeled as "traitorous" and another Chinese citizen called her a "deranged Taiwan independence supporter!"
