Brazil World Cup 2014 News: Neymar Cheering For Argentina's Messi, Mascherano For Finals

Brazil have faced a dilemma of whose team dupport for the World Cup finals, as soon as they were eliminated by Germany in a horrifying 7-1 defeat.

The dilemma is that, shall Brazil support Argentina, their oldest football rival to date? South America seemed to small for the two football powerhouses. Or, shall Brazil support Germany, who defeated them mightily at 7-1, their most humiliating so far, right in their home field?

Well, thankfully, Neymar Jr. settled the dilemma when he said in a press conference that he is rooting for Argentina. He said that he is supporting his team mates, Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano.

He said this: "Messi's history in the sport is so important, he has won a lot of trophies and I will be cheering for him."

"He is a friend, he is my team-mate and I wish him luck."

"I always said I wanted Argentina to get to the final because Brazil would be there but it never worked out like that," Neymar told the reporters last Thursday.

"I still want them there because my two team mates are there, Messi and Mascherano, and I hope they win."

The three are team mates in Barcelona.

And even though Neymar still can't play because of his back bone injury, he will be on the Brazil versus Netherlands match for the third place. Team captain Thiago Silva will be present now, on the other hand.

The two nations, Brazil and Argentina, have been the best-known rivals in the South American continent. And while Brazil has won the World Cup five times, the Messi's team have only won it twice.

The finals of the World Cup will be held on Sunday, 4 PM. The third place match will be earlier, scheduled on Saturday, 4 PM.
