Luis Suarez is leaving Liverpool after being transferred to Barcelona. The transfer is set next week in spite of Suarez not being able to practice with his new team mates due to a sanction by the FIFA Committee.

IT can be remembered that Suarez bit a player from the opposing team during their games in the FIFA world Cup, Uruguay vs. Italy. Suarez appealed to the FIFA committee on his four month suspension but it was denied.

But Barcelona is not deterred with the situation. Instead they pursued Suarez to sign up a five year contract worth $130 million. Barcelona prides itself to be more than just a club and sees the team as having high morals and values. This is the reason why the chose to overlook Suarez' misdemeanor and gave the striker a chance.

Suarez move to Barcelona opens up new doors for the troubled 27 year old. He scored 82 goals in 133 Liverpool games but his accomplishments were overshadowed by his controversies.

Suarez made a statement regarding his club transfer saying "It is with a heavy heart that I leave Liverpool for a new life and new challenges in Spain. Me and my family have fallen in love with this club and with the city. We will always be Liverpool supporters. This club did all they could to get me to stay, but playing and living in Spain, where my wife's family live, is a lifelong dream and ambition. I believe now the timing is right."

Suarez is scheduled to fly to Spain next week for his medical examination as well as signing of his contract. When Suarez becomes an official player in Barcelona, he will be paired with the team's top players, including Lionel Messi and Neymar and they will be handled under a new coach, Luis Enrique.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers opens up about Suarez choice to transfer "It is with great reluctance and following lengthy discussions we have eventually agreed to his wishes to move to Spain for new experiences and challenges." He added "if there is one thing the history of this great club teaches us, it is that Liverpool FC is bigger than any individual."
