Sony's next generation computer entertainment system, the Playstation 4, has been out on the market for quite a while, and the manufacturer have reasons to believe that they are pretty much successful with the PS4's release.

According to one of Sony's reports, the entertainment system has attributed it success from core gamers as well as from those who want to refresh their gaming experience.

At the Developer conference in Brighton last week, the boss of Sony Computer Entertainment, Andrew House, mentioned that the company has seen a huge opportunity to attract the people who made the Wii such a successful console, but not to the success of either the PS3 or the Xbox 360.

House also added that around 40 percent of the early adopters of the PlayStation 4 in Europe did not have a PlayStation Plus account, which he believed was indicative of the fact that they were new to the world of consoles. He also shared that Sony hs lways been looking back on how cool things were since the PS4 was launch last November, constantly doing its best to improve service quality.

The PlayStation 4's success is relatively big so far, and it goes beyond the people's expectations. The company's predictions pointed to around five millions units being sold before the end of the last fiscal year, and in reality the company managed to shift over 7 million PS4s.

"One of the things we benchmark ourselves against the PlayStation 2 to a greater degree, and we're happy to have been significantly ahead of that. But we need to see a full comparison of a full year of what the PS2 did including a holiday season, compared with a similar period for PS4. And then we'll have a sense of where things are really going," he concluded.
