Lionel Messi News: Argentina's No10 Asked By Arsenal Before Signing Barcelona?

A Spanish outlet named Vozpopuli has speculated that Lionel Messi may move next season to Arsenal than stay in his previous football club, Barcelona. Enrique Marin from the said publication said this (via Metro):

"The Argentine superstar eventually penned his extension with Barca in May having previously rejected fresh terms, following a row over bonus payments.

"And Spanish newspaper Vozpopuli, who broke the news of Arsenal's deal for Alexis Sanchez, says Messi was seriously considering a switch to the Emirates before sorting out an arrangement to stay at the Nou Camp.

"The paper claims that Messi had spoken to close friend Cesc Fabregas about his time at Arsenal, and also sounded out other acquaintances about a switch to London."

For Casc Fabregas, he did not deny the fact that Arsenal has offered him a spot, after Barcelona is clouded with superstars namely Luis Suarez, Neymar, and Lionel Messi. However, he finally joined Chelsea when his old club decided that he does not fit anymore.

Lee Hurley of Metro continually devoured the fact and possibility of Messi's football transfer when he said this:

"He [Messi] reportedly earns £15.8 [million] per season. That's around £300k per week. No player at Arsenal is on half that and Wenger takes the wage structure at the club very seriously.

"I can hear Wenger's breathing getting shallow just thinking about paying someone £300k per week."

However, if the move was even in the future, it not very near. The Argentina superstar just currently signed another contract with Barcelona. The said deal made him the highest- paid soccer player in the world, according to BBC.

Barcelona is now enjoying the presence of three of the best forwards in the world with Messi, Neymar, and Suarez on their side. It can be remembered that Messi also won the Golden Ball in the previous World Cup, amid the team's finals defeat against champions Germany.
