The Ed Sheeran and Miley Cyrus feud goes way back to the British crooner's comment about the 'Wrecking Ball' singer's twerking.

Recent reports, however, have suggested that the former Hannah Montana actress is still quite annoyed at Sheeran's comment about her mouth-dropping performance at last year's VMAs.

According to US Weekly, Cyrus responded to the 'Sing' hitmaker's comment in 2013 during this year's awards show.

The eagle-eyed audience of the 2014 MTV VMAs have spotted her mouthing "a**hole" to Sheeran as he walked past her to accept his Best Male Video award. Cyrus, on the other hand, won Music Video of the Year for 'Wrecking Ball.'

What fuelled the accusation even more was the 'We Can't Stop' singer's lack of enthusiasm at Sheeran's first American award. While everyone was busy clapping and congratulating the 'Don't' crooner, Cyrus' hands stayed put on her lap as she maintained a poker face.

Yahoo! doesn't see the alleged cursing, however. Although the former Disney kid didn't look too enthusiastic about the win, the article maintains that it can't seem to see her swearing at him.

Whether Cyrus did curse at the 'Lego House' hitmaker or not, none of Ed Sheeran and Miley Cyrus' expressions seem to hint at the supposed insult.

Sheeran told The Mirror in an interview last year that what Miley did at the 2013 VMAs with Robin Thicke was "a stripper's move."

"If I had a daughter of mine, I wouldn't want her twerking," he said in the interview. "When I first heard 'Wrecking Ball,' I thought it was a brilliant song. But the video distracts too much from it."

It looks like Sheeran's comment didn't go unnoticed. Miley Cyrus has already announced her intentions of leaving the world of twerking.

According to Yahoo!, the 21-year-old singer told MTV, "It's not about twerking - it's about music."

"I'm making some music right now with The Flaming Lips," the young singer revealed. "It's different. It's a little psychadelic."

Will the supposed Ed Sheeran and Miley Cyrus feud finally end now that the twerking queen has promised to retire and make totally different music?
