His sister reportedly spoke up about her brother's ideal type after the actor's split with fashion designer Anna Jones in 2012. Cumberbatch, according to his sister, is very well-read, therefore, only a girl with the same intellectual capacity would fit him.

"You have to be a pretty smart cookie to keep up with him. I think that is possibly why he has trouble with girlfriends," Tracy Peacock-Tabernacle told British newspaper The Sun via the Daily Mail. "He is such a lot like Sherlock-he is quick thing like him, but not harsh. He's incredibly well read. In comparison to some he is quite an intellectual."
