Another insider from MBC's global head office stated "we've already contacted the publishing company of our plans but have not received a reply." The drama 'The Moon That Embraces The Sun' was originally a book, so the staff needs permission from the publishing company before beginning work on their project. The insider also stated, "We want to be as involved with the musical as we have with the original drama."

The author of 'The Moon That Embraces The Sun,' Jung Eung Gwol, has also approved of making the story into a musical. An insider stated, "Jung Eun Gwol shows great support for this project. Just like how the drama has become a hit, she feels that it would be appropriate to portray the story into a successful musical as well."
