‘Love Rain’ Only Pretty Cinematography?
A frontrunner to be the new Korean Wave star, Jang Geun Suk revealed the deep meaning behind 'Love Rain,' beginning to air on the 26th.
'Love Rain' is a drama in which Jang Geun Suk places his sincerity to grab the hearts of the Korean public. Through 'You're Beautiful,' Jang Geun Suk has received love and success in Japan to be placed as the best Korean Wave star after Bae Yong Joon. However, Korea expressed lukewarm reactions to drama 'Mary Stayed Out All Night' and film 'You Pet.' The Korean public was merely shocked of Jang Geun Suk's status in Japan through documentary 'The Center of New Korean Wave, I Am Jang Geun Suk.' On the 22nd, Jang Geun Suk revealed his sadness at the press conference for 'Love Rain,' "While receiving love from overseas, I've been titled as a Korean Wave star rather than an actor."
Jang Geun Suk is expected to raise anticipation for his acting in a melodrama since 'Hwang Jin Yi.' Jang Geun Suk canceled all of his schedules in Japan to focus on filming 'Love Rain.'
Also, 'Love Rain' has been criticized for merely being a drama with nice-looking imagery. Director Yoon Suk Ho stated, "I hate hearing that it is only a work of pretty cinematography the most. 'Love Rain' is a drama in which I will show that I haven't just been playing after the four season series."
