"Maleficent" full movie sets itself apart from the typical Disney flicks as it focuses on the story not of a princess but of a fairy-turn-villain.

It received not-so-good feedback from critics as it is said to discourage family audiences as it is "retelling Sleeping Beauty from the villain's perspective". But the box-office result proved this wrong as it achieved ticket sales of $69,431,298 in the opening weekend. Total domestic gross was $240,978,399; total international gross was $750,978,399.

"Maleficent" full movie is a touching story of a beautiful and pure-hearted protector of the peaceful forest kingdom of Moors. She falls in love with a man whom she thinks offer her true love. He betrays her to become the king's successor.

Maleficent's once pure heart turns into stone and she places a curse on Aurora: She will fall into sleep as she punctured her finger with a needle. Only true love will awaken her. Of course, Maleficent does not believe in true love and she thinks it does not exist. But you'll be surprised to know what happens next.

This film is Angelina Jolie's first movie in four years. In an interview with HitFix, she revealed why she believed in the project. "Well, I wanted to do something that my children could see. I wanted to have fun and explore different art and performance in a way I hadn't done. Most of all I read Linda [Woolverton]'s script and I was really moved by it. I got really emotional by the time I finished it. I thought it was one of the best scripts I'd read in a long time because of the issues it dealt with. I thought it was, in fact, an important story to tell."

The writer, Linda Woolverton, said in an interview, "Maleficent" full movie was "a reinvention, not just a retelling of the classic Sleeping Beauty fairytale." Director Robert Stromberg told EW, "There are two sides to every story. This is about examining the other side. And once you 've become dark, how much hard it is to see the light again."
