Is 'To the Beautiful You' Kim Ji Won a Real Gymnast?
Photos of Kim Ji Won totally focused on gymnastics while showing off her graceful moves have been revealed.
In the SBS drama 'To the Beautiful You,' Kim Ji Won plays the role of Seol Han Na, the "gymnastics fairy." In the episode that is to air on the 19th of September, Kim Ji Won will be again showing off her gymnastics skills, which she has been refining, through a ribbon performance.
It was revealed that Kim Ji Won had started gymnastics training from July and that she practiced up to six hours in a given day. She is receiving much praise for practicing without fail despite the busy filming schedules.
In particular, Jo Eun Jung, the rhythm gymnastics representative for Korea who won bronze medals in the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games and 2002 Busan Asian Games, coached Kim Ji Won for this role. After first testing her, she stated, "Her form is prettier than I thought it would be." Also, whenever Kim Ji Won would become frustrated while practicing, her coach would say, "If you compare yourself to gymnasts who started from a young age, your skills are not inferior."
A drama representative revealed, "The staff are extremely impressed by her change whenever we film a gymnastics scene. We feel proud of her when she shows her passion for acting as she continues to work to shoot better scenes."
