People reported that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon split is getting controversial each day. A source has indicated that Mariah did not make it to the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree taping on time last Tuesday as she got so engrossed in dealing with her divorce with Cannon.

"She was on the phone for probably close to five hours straight with lawyers." 

Carey was reportedly showed up three hours late for the taping. This caused fans to wait in the rain all those three hours.

People reported that the source indicated it was never Care's intention to disappoint fans. However, it was unavoidable that the singer stays on the phone for that long prior to her taping. She had to fix the property settlements and custody of her children in relation to the demise of her marriage to Cannon in that one phone call.
