Peter Jackson's movies after The Hobbit Trilogy are scaled down, but he's up or another Tolkien adaptation.

Peter Jackson's movies after "The Hobbit: the Battle of the Five Armies" will be small-scale by comparison, as the directors changes pace in projects. The director is reportedly being considered for upcoming film "Ready Player One," but he's already confirmed at work with smaller projects.

Screenrant reports on Jackson's plans after The Hobbit Trilogy, with a string of laid-back films in his credit. The director specialized in quirky movies in the 80's and 90's, notably the cult-followed "Dead Alive," and "Meet the Feebles."

Jackson is interested in projects about his native country, true stories in particular.

"We really feel a bigger urge now to not continue with another Hollywood blockbuster for a while, but to go back and tell some New Zealand stories."

The director helmed a rather quiet film around the same season when "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy was being screened. "Those Lovely Bones" was met with polarized reactions, but it showcased his talent for simple, intimate films.

Asked if he was ready for another venture into Middle Earth, Jackson says he's up for it, but not at the moment.

"If I had to start tomorrow, I would say no, because I definitely would appreciate a break to clear my head and get my little New Zealand stories done, which is where my passion and my heart is heading now. But ask me in two or three years, and I'd probably say yes. It would be hard to see another filmmaker go into this world, because I certainly have an emotional ownership of it."

Among Peter Jackson's movies slated for production is the sequel to "Tintin," as well as a few unconfirmed projects. "The Hobbit: the Battle of the Five Armies" is currently screening in theaters.
