There's new news on the "Ant-Man" movie that opens tie-ups to the Avengers.

Evangeline Lilly dished new news on the "Ant-Man" movie, leaving room for a tie up with The Avengers' story arc. Lilly stars with Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas in the Marvel adaptation.

In an interview with CNN, Lilly talks about her role as Hope Van Dyne, daughter of Michael Pym, played by Douglas:

"[Hope] is the daughter of the founders of The Avengers, Ant-Man and the Wasp. She is a very talented, intelligent, capable woman and a force to be reckoned with. ['Ant-Man'] is very much a heist film. It has all the fun, tension and drama of a good heist film. The heist is being masterminded by myself, my father and Scott Lang."

The Marvel Cinematic Universe can explore any story arc, but Lilly is credited for first mention of the founders of The Avengers, who have yet to be introduced in franchise. There is new news the "Ant-Man" movie will feature flashbacks of a younger Hank Pym heavily involved with S.H.I.E.L.D and its development of defense systems.

Marvel could exploit the S.H.I.E.L.D flashback and include a brief appearance of Captain America, also Agent Carter played by Hayley Atwell. Lilly's character would be heavily involved in the heist which plays out of the film, suggesting a significant female presence.

Lilly also comments on her experience working in "Ant-Man," which recently wrapped up production:

"I've been astounded to discover how good to their teams and crew that Marvel are. They're so collaborative, so smart with their stories. They have rich, dynamic characters which are so much fun to play. I expected I'd be a cog in the wheel of a big machine -- I wasn't sure I'd like this experience. But I've been so astounded at how pleasurable the whole experience has been."

"Ant-Man" release date marks the end of Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 2, on July 17, 2015.
