Despite rumors claiming that Taylor Swift has a new boyfriend, one of her closest friends still want another guy for her. Ed Sheeran reportedly admitted that he wants to play matchmaker between the 25-year old singer and "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Orlando Bloom.

The British actor has remained single since his marriage with supermodel Miranda Kerr ended in October 2013. The "Blank Space" singer, on the other hand, also refrained from dating since her relationship with Harry Styles ended in January 2013.

During an interview with Now Daily, the "Lego House" hitmaker hinted that he wanted the 37-year old actor to become Taylor Swift's new boyfriend. Ed Sheeran said, "He's lovely, and they live in the same building." He added, "I'm hoping that] the magic might present itself eventually."

The 23-year old musician is known for playing cupid for his friends. He was also the one that introduced former "Friends" star Courteney Cox to her fiancé Johnny McDaid, who is the frontman of Snow Patrol. They met in LA last year and they are both happily engaged.

Ed Sheeran also admitted that he is close to the members of One Direction especially Harry Styles. He told Event Magazine, "When I see them - I see Harry quite a lot - I don't counsel them." He added, "We have a drink and some fun." I wonder if they ever talked about Taylor Swift since there have been rumors that Harry Styles is jealous of Matt Healy.

Meanwhile, an alleged source confirmed to Hollywood Life that The 1975 frontman is Taylor Swift's new boyfriend. The insider said, "Taylor and Matty have been dating for approximately two months now. It started off as a mutual crush and has been blossoming more and more." Their source added, "They both have very busy schedules as 1975 is touring and Taylor is promoting her album, but whenever they can find time to be in the same city, they do it."
