Lizard Squad Members Arrested

Insiders expect more Lizard Squad members arrested after Monday's break; an independent journalist identified 22-year-old Vinnie Omari in a copy of bail posted at the Kingston police station. Brian Krebs pegs Omari as member of Lizard Squad following police arrest.

Omari is the first of Lizard Squad members arrested, in the wake of the previous months' attacks. Brian Krebs reports on internet security news on his website Krebs on Security, where the copy of Omari's bail document was posted.

Vinnie Omari confirmed Monday's police arrest on The Daily Dot, also shared the served search warrant. The warrant indicated a thorough search for "email addresses, usernames, passwords, documents containing names associated with Paypal fraud."Any evidence related to the "hacking of the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live systems over the Christmas period" was also part of the search.

Thames Valley Police confirmed a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation and Computer Misuse Act offences, in a press release:

"The arrest yesterday (30/12) is in connection with an ongoing investigation into cyber fraud offences which took place between 2013 and August 2014 during which victims reported funds being stolen from their PayPal accounts."

The posted bail is valid until March.

It's expected more Lizard Squad members will be arrested in the wake of Omari, and The Daily Dot reported another ongoing investigation by the FBI, which the latter confirmed. The unnamed teen lives in Finland, according to the report.

The Lizard Squad has also offered its hacking services for hire, as advertised in its official Twitter account:

"The group is advertising the new 'booter service' via its Twitter account, which has some 132,000+ followers. Subscriptions range from $5.99 per month for the ability to knock a target offline for 100 seconds at a time, to $129.99 monthly for DDoS attacks lasting more than eight hours."
