"Let it go" songstress Idina Menzel appeared to be bothered by the cold as she failed to hit the high notes on New Year's Eve at the Times Square Plaza. According to NY Daily News, haters just can't seem to let it go.

Reportedly, the chilly temperatures might have caused "Frozen" theme singer to hit the bum note as she was belting out the song night before the New Year on the closing line: "Let the storm rage on."

"Haters gonna hate," as the famous quote said. So the merry makers took the jibes to Twitter.

According to NY Daily News, some made jokes about the singer's John Travolta-bestowed alter-ego, Adele Dazeem. It can be remembered that Travolta bungled Menzel's name at the 2014 Oscars, where "Let It Go" bagged gold statue for Best Original Song.

Here are some of the Tweeters rants:

"Maybe Adele Dazeem should sing this song. #LetItGo," "Happy Days" actor Scott Baio wrote.

"Adele Dazeem introduced some new notes in her performance of Let It Go last night https://www.youtube.com/embed/c5p700TwuEA ... the last one is a corker!," West End Wilma said.

One said, "Too bad we couldn't end 2014 on a high note, right, Idina Menzel?"

Others fans were more considerate.

"Why be mean to @idinamenzel...we rarely get a real live performance..bw broadway&freezing temps give her a break her perf was amazing," Maria Menounos wrote.

One added: "DO YOU KNOW HOW DIFFICULT THAT SONG IS. STOP. Don't hate on the queen."

.

"People are criticizing @idinamenzel for her live performance of "let it go" I think she did amazing for being out in the cold singing live," one wrote.

Reportedly, the crowd were also treated to performances from Taylor Swift who tumbles down some steps while walking down the stage after her performance, she recovered and appeared unhurt, One Direction and Elton John.
