Feb. 2016 is the confirmed release date for the Deadpool movie reboot; in an interview, Ryan Reynolds insisted the overhaul will be done carefully as soon as production starts March.
Fans have high hopes for the new movie, fueled in part by the test footage that was leaked last summer. It was Tim Miller who created the footage years ago, released just before the Deadpool reboot got the green light.
Reynolds said they intend to be thorough in developing Deadpool for his own live-action films. He shared, "Tests. Lots of tests. Lots and lots of tests. That's about all I can say about that."
The project will have a relatively modest budget, compared to other superhero movies of late. Reynolds said the constraint is actually an advantage, offering more creative freedoms.
"[He's] always been the right guy," Reynolds said, referring to Miller. "He's always, you know, shown nothing but a fierce loyalty to the canon of Deadpool and that's the thing you look for first and foremost, a guy that is always wanting to push a little bit farther. And the advantage of doing a movie like this on a budget that is significantly less than any other kind of superhero movie is that you get to do things that you don't get to do on other superhero movies so that's what we're most excited about."
The Deadpool movie with Ryan Reynolds is fortunately on track, with a director, release date, and an actor in the titular role confirmed. It's reported the movie will be tagged an R Rating before it hits theaters, though, which is expected to affect revenues at the box office.
