Battlefield Hardline Open Beta Download Now Available, Until Feb. 8; Three Maps And Game Modes Playable; Hacker Mode Available; Beta 11GB Heavy For The PC And The Xbox, PlayStation Consoles

Battlefield Hardline open beta download is now available; the 11GB-heavy beta can now be downloaded from the Origin (PC), also for the PlayStation and Xbox consoles, to be stress-tested for bugs and glitches.

Origin jumpstarts the open beta phase for Battlefield Hardline today, a title long overdue for release. The open beta is only available until Feb 8, though, featuring three different maps and two modes.

The download size is heavy at 11GB, accessible by first downloading Origin. After launch, users click on Store, Free Games, Demos and Betas, and the Battlefield Hardline option.

PlayStation and Xbox owners should have an active subscription to PlayStation Store and Xbox Live; the download option is available at the main menus.

Hotwire mode is one of the features of the Battlefield Hardline open beta download, introducing high-speed chase action into the game. Criminals try to carjack vehicles as cops try to repossess them. Hotwire mode is playable on two maps for the beta, Downtown and Dust Bowl; gameplay is similar to capture the flag, but with moving targets.

Dust Bowl map is playable in Conquest mode, which can accommodate up to 64 players. The third map in the game (Bank Job) is playable in Heist mode, involving a bank and vault. Players take sides in opposing teams.

A familiar feature is carried over to the Battlefield Hardline open beta download; Hacker mode lets a player on each side of opposing teams serve as lookouts, similar to Commanders in Battlefield 4. A Hacker can commandeer security cameras, lookout and tip off enemies, and plot locations on the Battlefield the team can assault or defend. All the modes in the beta is playable in Hacker mode.
