Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are set to helm their own "Ghostbusters" movie.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" directors Joe and Anthony Russo surprised the movie world by revealing that they are going to make their own version of the supernatural comedy "Ghostbusters" film with Channing Tatum.

According to Variety, in the wake of its female-centric "Ghostbusters" slated to release next summer, Sony is trying to figure out other ways to capitalize on the franchise by creating the production company, Ghost Corps, which reportedly will create a "Ghostbusters" universe through branding opportunities based on the hit films.

"Ghostbusters" director Ivan Reitman along with writer-star Dan Aykrod will head up the company with Alex Plapinger, Ali Bell and Tom Pollock, who are Reitman's 'Montecito Production' partners. The banner will focus on finding ways to capitalize on the "Ghostbusters" name via merchandise, TV projects and movies.

Variety noted, the banner's first order of business is developing a counterpart to the Paul Feig female-driven "Ghostbusters" movie featuring Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wig and Melissa McCarthy. Besides "Captain America: the Winter Soldier" helmers Anthony and Joe Russo, who are loosely attached to direct, producing partners Peter Kiernan and Reid Carolin are also coming on to produce while Drew Pearce is on board to pen the script.

According to USAToday, the Russo brothers are not officially attached to direct at this point as they are busy with "Captain America: Civil War" and probably will direct Marvel's two-part "Avengers" finale. The Russo brothers signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures just last week. Whether Tatum would star, is still not clear too. Sony however is hopeful this can happen.

The Russos and Pearce both are repped by WME while Tatum is repped by UTA and Management 360.
