Paula Patton remains optimistic amidst her pending divorce from Robin Thicke as the latter, together with Pharrell Williams, are set to pay Marvin Gaye's family $7.4 million for "Blurred Lines."

In her recent guesting over "Good Morning America," as reported by the The Root, Paula Patton shared with host Robin Roberts that although she is doing well, she still can say that the divorce is "challenging".

"I mean, the honest truth is, it has been challenging. But it has been a year of growth-learning about all new things," she revealed.

However, Paula Patton added that it surely happens for a reason and that she has to move on and grow from there despite getting a divorce from "Blurred Lines" hitmaker Robin Thicke.

"Usually the positive in your life outweighs that. And you have to just be thankful for what you have right now," she said.

With this "challenging" phase in her life, Paula Patton said she draws her motivation from their four-year-old son, Julian Fuego.

"The thing is, you can't wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child. And they're so full of life and wonder. And he brings me so much joy," she said.

It can be recalled that Paula Patton formally filed a divorce from Robin Thicke last Oct. 9, after nine years of marriage. When the news broke out, the "Blurred Lines" singer even divulged in his interview with Oprah that his use of drugs and alcohol can be blamed for the actress' decision.

Meanwhile, according to Mail Online, the court ruled that Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams have to pay Marvin Gaye's children - Nona, Frankie, and Marvin - $7.4 million for "copying" their father's music to produce the 2013 biggest hit song 'Blurred Lines'.

The court said that of the $7.4 million, $4 million is for damages while the remaining $3.4M is for the profits from the song.

"Blurred Lines" reportedly raked in $16 million for Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams and rapper T.I. when it was released.

A lawyer of the three artists said the jury's decision may have a negative impact on musicians.

"'Blurred Lines' was created from the heart and minds of Pharrell, Robin and T.I. and not taken from anyone or anywhere else. We are reviewing the decision, considering our options and you will hear more from us soon about this matter," he said per Mail Online.
