Looks like mixed martial artist Nick Diaz is not going down without a fight as the UFC fighter has retained a New York based law firm to help his case.

Citing his day in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission is expected to come in the next several weeks, mixed martial artist, Nick Diaz is set to battle against his UFC 183 drug test results.

Nick Diaz has retained a New York based law firm to help his case when he goes before the Nevada State Athletic Commission, according to FOXSports.

MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani reported on March 25 edition of UFC Tonight that Diaz has hired the New York based firm of Seham, Seham, Meltz & Pierson LLP attorney-at-law to help in his case after he tested positive for Marijuana and perform an investigation on the results of the UFC 183 drug tests.

LowKickMMA noted that this firm is renowned for their specialization in drug related cases. Apparently the former WEC Welterweight Champion believes there were some distortions as far as his test results were concerned.

According to FOXSports, the original test results showed Diaz positive for marijuana metabolites at 300ng/mL, which apparently is double the legal limit in the state of Nevada. Although no date has been set for the UFC fighter to appear before the commission, FOXSports speculates it's likely to happen next month.

Diaz and his team plan on challenging the commission when they have an opportunity to present their appeal as they strongly believe that there were irregularities with the test results.

With lead attorney Lee Seham listing employee drug testing as one of his areas of expertise, Seham, Seham, Meltz & Peterson exclusively practice employment and labor laws.

Legendary Anderson Silva shocked the MMA world when he tested positive for anabolic steroids following his much-anticipated return at January's UFC 183. However, Nick Diaz's positive test for Marijuana for the third time didn't quite surprise the fans. Both, Silva and Diaz were scheduled to appear before the commission on March 16, however the UFC combatants were granted another few weeks to prepare their defences.

Diaz was suspended for six-months after he tested positive after his fight with Takanori Gomi in Pride Fighting Championships in 2007. Diaz tested positive again after his fight with Carlos Condit in 2012 and received a one-year suspension.

Do you think Nick Diaz and his team will find any "irregularities" or will Diaz face another suspension? Let us know in the comments below!
