Good news gamers, Bungie has hinted Destiny's Vaults are getting a much-awaited makeover in April.

Last month, Bungie confirmed that they'd be expanding "Destiny" players' vaults in the upcoming Update 1.1.2 which is the last major update prior to the "House of Wolves" expansion.

The developer finally revealed today exactly how big players' vaults will become.

Talking about the next update for "Destiny," Bungie announced on its website that the teasing will soon end and the downloading will begin. The developer further expressed its excitement by noting that they have started making promises, including:

Vault Space

Bungie admits players need more space in order to collect all the treasures they gain from their mission, and more gear is on the way.

In the Weekly Update, Bungie's M.E. Chung said their goal was to find a solution that could deliver more Vault space to greatest number of people in the short term. Chung said the team's challenge was to equip an increase in storage that fit within the memory constraints that caps how many items can be displayed on one screen.

According to CinemaBlend, this challenging task had to be accomplished by a team who is concurrently working on future content. Chung further added that Bungie opted to ensure that players have enough slots for all Exotics from Launch through "House of Wolves" - hence the largest increase in slot space is for weapons. As far as players looking for more space for Armor and General Items are concerned, Chung says that they'll introduce a solution for those players sometime soon.

Vault size currently sits storage of 20 Armor pieces, 20 Weapons, and 20 General items such as vehicles, ships, emblems, shaders, materials etc.

That said, this is soon to change to 24 Armor pieces, 36 Weapons and 24 General items.

No doubt, the update is a welcome one and clearly one every Destiny player will take advantage of, however many players are wondering why Destiny didn't have bigger Vault sizes in the first place? Besides, why has it taken this long for the developer to implement it?

UI Engineering Lead, Brad Fish explains claiming that increasing Vault size was not as easy as everyone made it out to be.

Fish said "each modification to Destiny has the potential to introduce a variety of side effects." Fish added that in order to ensure the continued stability of the game, planning as well as meticulous verification are crucial.

To increase Vault size for all consoles, Bungie had to disable item comparison with the Vault on PS3 and Xbox 360. The feature however will remain on PS4 and Xbox One, according to Fish.

Furthermore, Update 1.1.2 will add audio and new video options besides tweaks and bug fixes.
