On June 13, tvN aired the final episode of the romantic comedy, "Ex-Girlfriend Club." The series' run was shortened from 16 episodes to 12, following lackluster ratings which struggled to travel beyond 1.16 percent. According to Nielsen Korea, the finale recorded 0.78 percent of cable subscribers. "Ex-Girlfriend Club" may have yielded low ratings, but the drama featured strong chemistry between its leading stars, Song Ji Hyo and Byun Yo Han.

Song portrayed Kim Soo Jin, a film producer who was employed at a company that was facing financial ruin. Soo Jin was given the challenge of commissioning and adapting a webtoon series which was written by a former flame. Byun starred as Bang Myung Soo, a webtoon illustrator, whose most successful series was based on his escapades with his ex-girlfriends.

The finale wrapped up the plot of the series, without handling the rushed atmosphere which brutalized the conclusion of "The Idle Mermaid," the 2014 tvN drama whose episodes were also reduced.

"Ex-Girlfriend Club" highlighted the potential of strong friendships between women, even if they used to date the same man.Soo Jin continued her relationship with Myung Soo, but his ex-girlfriends were more accepting of their situation. The only conflict which remained for the couple was the lack of acceptance by Soo Jin's sister, who vocally wanted to see her with the film director.

Song Ji Hyo successfully reunited with Gary (Kang Gary) on the June 14 episode of "Running Man." The ratings of "Ex-Girlfriend Club" were unfornature because she demonstrated stronger acting in the drama than in previous roles.

"Ex-Girlfriend Club" will be followed by the supernatural romantic comedy, "Oh My Ghost," which stars Park Bo Young and Cho Jung Seok.
