The Seoul International Drama Awards Organizing Committee has announced the final entries of the Tenth Seoul International Drama Awards 2015. The award festival features dramas that have been highly acclaimed for their cinematic quality and popularity. Featuring diverse international drama productions, this year the annual awards festival received a total of 212 submissions from 48 nations including first time participating countries such as Slovenia and Cambodia.

The Korean drama entries were chosen because they reinterpret traditional themes with a new twist or use fresh or diverse themes.

The notion of what makes a family is one issue that two nominated dramas explored. Among the Korean dramas submitted are "What Happens To My Family," which explored social issues and what it means to be a family, as well as "Legendary Witches," which shows four unrelated women who become as close as sisters.

A fresh look at romance qualified "Discovery of Love," which stars Jung Yu Mi and Eric Mun. "Emergency Couple," starring Choi Jin Hyuk and Song Ji Hyo, offered a look at a couple that divorced too hastily and gets a second chance to understand each other.  "Pinocchio" and "You're All Surrounded" explored issues of revenge and justice from the perspective of reporters and detectives.

"Misaeng," which starred Im Si Wan, Kang So Ra and Byun Yo Han, was an unconventional hit in that it used the lives of ordinary salary workers as its main theme and still managed to become a hit. "Maids," starring the other actress named Jung Yu Mi, offered a look at life in the servant class during the Joseon era. "Yuna's Street" offered a realistic portrayal of the people who lived on the same street.

Also on the list are "Temptation," which starred Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Ji Woo in a tale of love and adultery. Another nominee "Kill Me, Heal Me," starred actor Ji Sung playing a wealthy heir who deals with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID),

A wide range of foreign dramas, which embrace various genres and themes including crime thriller, fantasy, period, and comedy, were submitted.

The Seoul International Drama Awards 2015 will be held on September 10 at the new MBC Sang-am HQ Square, and will be produced and televised on MBC.

KBS, MBC, SBS, and EBS will televise a selection of the nominated programs ahead of the award ceremony so that more Korean drama fans can enjoy watching global dramas that have gained world recognition.
