Japanese fans will be pleased to know that "Rooftop Prince," starring Park Yoo Chun, will be released in blu ray and DVD in Japan this week.

Besides the drama's 20 episodes, the DVD and blu ray will contain behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the actors. That news is expected to be well received in Japan because of Yoo Chun's continuing popularity there.

'Rooftop Prince" tells the story of Joseon-era Crown Prince Lee Gak, played by Park Yoo Chun, who finds himself unexpectedly transported 300 years into the future after losing his Crown Princess. The solution to the mystery of what happened to the Crown Princess is mysteriously entwined with the mysterious disappearance of a modern-day man who looks just like the prince. But before the Crown Prince can solve both mysteries, he must learn how to survive in the 21st century. A Joseon era prince is not well equipped to deal with modern life so he elicits the help of a young woman played by Han Ji Min.

The highly rated drama won several SBS awards. Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min won a "Best Couple" award, while Park Yoo Chun won an "Excellence Award, " a "Teen Idol Award" and a "Netizen's Most Popular Award." But the drama was not just acclaimed in Korea. It was also wildly popular throughout Asia. Because of JYJ's popularity in Japan and because of Park Yoo Chun's appearance in the drama "Miss Ripley," it was voted the most anticipated drama of 2012.

The drama enjoyed number one ratings on China's popular video streaming site, Youku, where it was estimated that 77 million viewers watched. It earned prime time ratings in the Philippines and became the third most downloaded series in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

And to add to the excitement of the DVD release this week, Park Yoo Chun and his fellow JYJ members, Kim Junsu and Kim Jaejoong, are in Japan this week for a three-day concert at the Tokyo Dome. When the band arrived in Haneda International Airport, more than 1,000 enthusiastic fans mobbed them.

The concert's 150,000 tickets sold out almost immediately and it was decided that the last concert would be streamed live. As a thank you to his Japanese fans, Park Yoo Chun will debut his new single, "Walking With Her During Spring," at the concert. He composed the song himself.
