James Bond Author Anthony Harowitz called Idris Elba "not sauve enough" to play James Bond. The 60-year-old novelist was quoted saying: 'It's not a color issue ... Is it a question of being suave? Yeah,' reported the Daily Mail UK. The author called him "too street" to play 007, stated Variety.com

The author was later forced to tweet his apology to the actor as really sorry my comments about Idris Elba have caused offence. That wasn't my intention.

Idris Elba is 42 year old star who was lauded for his works with The Golden Globe and the Emmy Awards. He later took to Instagram and joked, "Always Keep Smiling!! It takes no energy and never hurts! Learned that from the Street!!" He will be replacing Daniel Craig in the upcoming new Bond Movie "Trigger Mortis" which is supposed to be sequel to 1959's "GoldFinger." His new movie "Beasts of No Nation" premieres in Venice this week. He is best known for his work in "The Wire" and "Luther."

Daily Mail UK reported further that Anthony Horowitz went on to explain that he was thinking of Elba's gritty role in BBC Crime Drama Luther and did not mean any offence. He also clarified he had Adrian Lester as a choice in his mind.

James Bond has always been the most sauve and stylish spy. Every Bond has been thoroughly modern with the most expensive and latest toys to play with. Anthony Horowitz was commissioned by the Fleming Estate "that could have come from Ian Fleming's own typewriter," said the NY Times. The action thriller "Trigger Mortis" is high class action drama that moves from Britain to Germany to the United States, the NY Times reported.
