Ahead of the release of his Coupang Play drama, Jang Geun Suk dished out his thoughts on the work.

Jang Geun Suk's comeback project, "Bait," follows the thrilling murders that take place in the present which are seemingly connected to the biggest serial killing case in the past.

The work stars Jang Geun Suk as Goo Do Han, a detective who is adamant to find the truth behind the murders and mysteries in his town.

Jang Geun Suk is more than ready to take his role as a cop, which he hasn't done before.

According to the actor, he wants to show that he still has the capability to do challenging roles like before.

"I want to break away from the "flower boy" image I had before," Jang Geun Suk stated. "I even grew a beard to complete the rugged look."

During his 20s, the actor played acting roles that focus on his beautiful appearance and heart-fluttering smile. This time, "Bait," which marks his comeback, will deliver Jang Geun Suk's never-before-seen charms.

Jang Geun Suk Shares Honest Thoughts on His 5-Year Hiatus

Amidst his preparations for "Bait," Jang Geun Suk opened up about his five-year hiatus from the spotlight.

He looked back and reflected on his growth as a person and an actor. Jang Geun Suk confessed that he didn't expect to be away from the media for a long time.

The actor expressed his gratitude to the production team of "Bait," which marks his return to the small screen. According to him, it's work that he's been waiting for a while now.

He also thanked the crew for his involvement in curating his character. From makeup to wardrobe, as well as body movements, his new acting role was intricately designed by him and the production unit; which is one of the things to anticipate in the series, according to the actor.

For five years, he was able to take the rest he needed. He also enjoyed his life away from the bustling show business, making "Bait" meaningful and special to him.

"I think I gave justice to Goo Do Han's character," the actor shared. "My goal is to wow the fans who have been waiting for my return."
