Claire Danes' secret affair with Billy Crudup may be twelve years old, but it still raises sufficient eyebrows, stated Daily Mail UK. Claire Danes spoke to shock jock Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show on Monday about her earlier relationship with Billy Crudup.

During the conversation on the show, she also talked about circumstances surrounding at those times. Nearly 12 years ago, Billy Crudup left seven months pregnant Mary-Louise Parker to pursue his romances with Danes. Parker had been his girlfriend for eight years. Crudup met her on set of their film "Stage Beauty."

Claire is currently 36 and award-winning star of the Showtime series Homeland. She confessed that she took public's perception very hard at that time and found it really scary. Later on she went on to wed English actor Hugh Dancy. Looking back on her actions, Claire boiled it down to love and naiveté on her part, said Daily Mail UK.

She reflected on her relationship back then and stated that she was just in love with him and needed to explore that. She was just 24 and did not quite understand what those consequences would be, said US Magazine.

Danes and the Almost Famous actor, 47, stayed in a relationship for four years until she moved on with her future husband, Hugh Dancy. Claire is married to Hugh Dancy, with whom she has the two-year old son Cyrus, and the actress has claimed that her husband can sometimes be too British for her, said Fanshare.com.

She currently shares her 11-year old son with Crudup but kept quiet about the affair all these years. She is expected to address it in her upcoming memoir, "Dear Mr. You." The book will be on shelves on Nov 10 in which it contains a series of letters the actress has penned down to the men in her life.
