Chris Martin is very grateful about the relationship that he has with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, along with their two kids Apple and Moses, despite their divorce earlier this year.

"I'm very, very grateful and we have these two incredible children and it's been a strange and amazing path but I'm so grateful to be right here, right now," he said when he appeared during "The Jonathan Ross Show."

Chris Martin was at the TV show to promote Coldplay's new album, "A Head Full of Dreams."

Speaking of Coldplay's new album, Chris Martin elaborated on how ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow contributed to the song, "Everglow."

"There were two lines of that song which she very kindly gave me the idea for," he said. "It was actually about her dad, we were talking about her dad who passed away and that's how that came about."

"I was looking for a word to sum up the feeling you get when something has finished or someone has passed away but you don't always have sadness about it, you have great memories or the fond memories," Chris Martin, who's now dating Annabelle Wallis, added.

Although Chris Martin and ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow "consciously uncoupled" last year, it was only this past summer when their divorce was finalized. The "Iron Man" actress is now dating "Glee" showrunner Brad Falchuk.

Gwyneth Paltrow also earlier explained that it's difficult to maintain a good relationship with Chris Martin because of the divorce, but they have to do it for the sake of their two kids.

"It's been hard, and we've gone through really difficult times, but we've always said these children are our priority," she said. "What that really means is even though today you hate me and you never want to see me again, we're going to brunch because it's Sunday and that's what we're going to do."
