'Gravity Falls' Season 2 Finale Titled 'Weirdmageddon III' Set To Air In 2016; Will Feature Time Baby And Bill Cipher's Knock Down.

Disney XD's popular animated series, Gravity Falls will air its second part of the finale possibly next year, titled "Weirdmageddon III," according to Movie Pilot.

The last part of the second season finale will witness the return of the villain, Time Baby in a knock down with another antagonist character of the series, Bill Cipher.

Time Baby will be showcased with the ability to influence the world and affect the time continuum. Alex Hirsch, creator of the series, also hinted on a gut-wrenching fight sequence between Bill Cipher and Time Baby. 

"I will say this although we've seen Time Baby blasted to little time pieces, he might not be quite as destroyed as you might believe," said Alex, reported EN Starz.

Entertainment Weekly reported that the finale of the second season will also feature Dipper growing up from a shy and adolescent child into a more mature and brave kid. Dipper will be seen as a more independent character in the finale and will be seen taking decisions on his own.

Alex Hirsch also announced that the animated series will soon come to a halt as according to him the adventure-filled tale of Dipper, Stan and Mabel was completed from his side.

"I know that there will be many fans who will be sad to see the Pines family go, but I've finished the story I wanted to tell and this chapter is closed, and that I, at least for now, am personally done telling their story," said Hirsch, reported Wired.

Inquisitr reported about Alex hinting on the possibility of next season of the animated series saying that some mysteries pertaining to characters are still left untold. He also said that such mysteries may be the reason for him to come up with new episodes of Gravity Falls

The animated series has aired around 40 episodes till date. The finale of the second season of Gravity Falls will be broadcasted anytime between January and March 2016.
