Confirmed! Kim Jung Hyun and Shin Hye Sun To Star in Upcoming “Queen CheoRin”
"Queen CheoRin" is a historical drama with a twist of sexy comedy, a kind of comedic fusion sageuk. The story will show a man from modern times gets trapped inside the Joseon Palace in a queen's body.
Queen Kim So Young once dreamed of becoming the Queen for her family. She tries her very best to fulfill her filial duty to her father. Nonetheless, a man's soul entered her body and didn't care about people staring at her and started to act wildly.
On the other hand, Cheol Jong appears easy-going, but he has a double personality that is somewhat psychopathic. He is like the "Jekyll and Hyde" of the Joseon Dynasty. He secretly dreams of reforming the dynasty.
The drama will showcase a fresh type of genre that is new to the audience as it takes on the fight against gender stereotypes.
Queen Kim So Yong will be played by Shin Hye Sun. The dynamic character of two different personalities will be the highlight of the drama as she acts like a regal queen then suddenly acts like a man whom the soul got trapped into her body. This will be the actress's first historical drama role since her debut.
In the meantime, the secretive king Cheol Jong will be played by Kim Jung Hyun. His acting will be put to the test as a king with a dual personality, a balance of comedy and seriousness will be showcase by the actor. And we are pretty sure the actor can deliver it.
