Social media posted a video of Jung Hae-in attending a designer show abroad, sparking the controversy. As a guest, the actor was seated in the front row with other international celebrities. Although the scene seemed normal at first, viewers later pointed out awkward moments among those seated alongside him.

Pop sensation Benson Boone and Turkish actor Kereměsin were seated on either side of Jung Hae-in, according to OSEN. In the video, they only spoke to each other while seated in the front row, legs spread in front of Jung, as if ignoring him. This was awkward, especially as Jung seemed to adjust his body language and facial expression.

After the footage spread online, fans began voicing criticism. In a neutral summary of fan reactions, commenters described the situation in blunt terms.

Fans wrote, "This is clearly racism," "They keep doing this because Asians respond humbly," and "Regardless of race, it's rude to put someone like that in the middle of other people." These reactions quickly gained traction across social media platforms, amplifying the controversy.

The video was initially shared through the official social media accounts of magazines and fashion insiders, as well as international outlets that attended the show.

However, as Korean and global fans recognized Jung Hae-in, their focus shifted to the behavior of the celebrities seated beside him, with many arguing that the behavior went beyond awkwardness to disrespect, as reported by OSEN.

Observers also noted that this incident follows a similar controversy involving Blackpink's Rosé. In a neutral recounting of past events, fans recalled her experience at Paris Fashion Week last October. At the time, Rosé attended a French luxury brand's show as a global ambassador. Later, a British fashion magazine released photos showing Rosé in a shadowy position compared to other celebrities.

Another widely shared video showed Hailey Bieber conversing warmly with Charli XCX before gesturing toward Rosé as per KBIZoom. Fans criticized the gesture as condescending, leading to backlash on social media. In describing fan sentiment, the outlet reported that many viewers felt the moment reflected a broader pattern of subtle discrimination.

With Jung Hae-in now facing similar scrutiny just months later, fans and commentators argue that repeated incidents at major fashion weeks are troubling. While no official responses have been issued by the individuals involved, the controversy has reignited calls for greater awareness and respect toward Asian stars on global stages.
