Apart from these, major broadcast networks highlight the talent of South Korea's rising stars, such as the "Squid Game" actor Wi Ha Joon and Kpop star turned budding actress BLACKPINK's Jisoo.

'Our Beloved Summer'

Set to premiere on December 6, "Our Beloved Summer" stars Kim Dami, Kim Sung Cheol, Roh Jeong Eui, and "Parasite" star Choi Woo Shik.

The upcoming rom-com series focuses on the complicated and somehow chaotic relationship of two ex-lovers who meet again after their documentary which they filmed during their high school became a huge hit.

'Artificial City'

From rom-com to mystery psychological thriller Kdrama, the upcoming JTBC series "Artificial City" highlights the diverse interests and personalities of people.

It points out the greediness for great power and ambition to become powerful.

"Artificial City" is headlined by Kim Kang Woo, Park Soo Ae, Kim Mi Sook, Lee Hak Joo, Lee Chong Joo and Kim Young Jae, set to premiere on December 8 on JTBC.

'Taejong Yi Bang Won'

Joining a slew of historical Kdramas released this 2021 is "Taejong Yi Bang Won," starring Joo Sang Wook, Kim Yeong Cheol, Park Jin Hee, Hong Kyung In, Ye Jin Won, and Lee Kwang Ki.

The KBS series depicts the life of leader Yi Bang-won who took the initiative to establish the Empire of Joseon during the end of the Goryeo Dynasty.

King Taejong is described as a brave and wise leader who led the founding of the nation.

'Taejong Yi Bang Won" release date is scheduled on December 11, airing every Saturday and Sunday on KBS.

'Uncle'

Viewers would get to see the other side of Oh Jung Se as he transforms as struggling musician Wang Joon Hyuk who has reached the rock bottom of his career.

Premiering on December 11 through TV Chosun and Viki, "Uncle" will surely captivate the viewers with laughter from cast members including Jeon Hye Jin, Lee Sang Woo, Park Sun Young and more.

A unique team-up is set to hit the small screen through the action-packed Kdrama "Bad and Crazy."

Lee Dong Wook will be the police detective Ryu Soo Weol who will live a double life as "K," played by Wi Ja Joon.

"Bad and Crazy" will premiere on December 17 via tvN and iQiyi.

'Bulgasal: Immortal Souls'

Slated to debut on December 18, the fantasy drama "'Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" depicts the story of two main characters whose life is immortal and has been living for over 600 years.

Headlined by Lee Jin Wook, Kwon Na Ra, Gong Seung Yeon and Lee Joon, the upcoming Kdrama will surely stimulate the viewers' curiosity alongside the stunning visuals of the fantasy series.

'Snowdrop'

Jung Hae In and BLACKPINK's Jisoo is making waves due to their much-awaited Kdrama "Snowdrop."

Finally, JTBC announced its release, slated on December 18, and will be the newest Saturday and Sunday night series.

Interestingly, "Snowdrop" will be Jisoo's first major role now that she is entering the world of acting.

'The Silent Sea'

Wrapping up the year is the Netflix series "The Silent Sea."

The sci-fi Kdrama boasts a star-studded cast, including Gong Yoo, Bae Doona, Lee Joon, Lee Moo Saeng, and more.

Set in the future, the elite space team is tasked with a special mission to retrieve samples from the abandoned lunar base.

Gong Yoo's comeback drama will premiere on December 24, exclusively on Netflix.
