For 2021, South Korea's survival-themed series starring Lee Jung Jae, Park Hae Soo, Jung Ho Yeon and Wi Ha Joon ranked first place as Google's most-searched TV show.

"Squid Game" once again defeated the American period drama series "Bridgerton," ranking at second place.

The third most searched TV show on Google is the Marvel-based miniseries "WandaVision," followed by "Cobra Kai" and "Loki" at fourth and fifth place.

To recall, this is not the first time that the nine-part series surpassed "Bridgerton."

At the height of the "Squid Game" mania, Netflix announced that the South Korean series ousted the period drama as most-watched show on the streaming site after being viewed by 111 million users during its first 28 days compared to "Bridgerton" with 82 million.

Going back to the 2021 Year in Search as cited by Google, Marvel took the top spot of most searched movies for the year after "Eternals," "Black Widow," "Shang-Chi," and the "Legend of the Ten Rings" ranked first place to fourth place respectively.

As for celebrities, Alec Baldwin got first place as Google's most searched actor, while Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License" is the top trending song of 2021.
