"Nation's MC" Yoo Jae Suk tested positive for COVID-19, and his agency officially released a statement regarding his condition.

Yoo Jae Suk Tests Positive for COVID-19 Despite Being Fully Vaccinated

On December 13, reports stated that Yoo Jae Suk has contracted the virus. On the same day, Antenna, Jae Suk's new agency, said that the "Running Man" host was already fully vaccinated by the end of September, but has been in close contact to someone who has been COVID-19-positive on December 11.

The agency added that Yoo Jae Suk immediately got tested on that day and got a negative result.

However, when he took another test on December 13, the host tested positive for the coronavirus.

Antenna halts all Yoo Jae Suk's schedules and said that the comedian-host is now in self-isolation and will continue to follow the guidelines implemented by the Disease Control and Prevention.

Apart from his agency, "Running Man" team also released their official statement regarding the news about Yoo Jae Suk.

An official representative from the production team told the public that they were scheduled for a shoot last December 13, but the "Busted" star didn't participate in the filming.

The official added that they had no recent close contact with Yoo Jae Suk but to ensure the safety of all, the cast and crew tested before starting filming and only with the negative results were allowed to enter the location. 

'How Do You Play?' and 'You Quiz on the Block' Team Release Statements 

Since Yoo Jae Suk is one of the busiest public figures in K-industry, the award-winning celebrity will take a break from work and get his treatment for a fast and safe recovery.

The "How Do You Play?" production team also released their statement, saying that after hearing the news about Yoo Jae Suk, all the staff members are currently getting their PCR test and hoping for negative results. Since it will be impossible to do the scheduled "Dotori Festival" on December 15, the team decided to reschedule the event and will release another statement for updates.

The team added that they will follow the COVID-19 guidelines until Yoo Jae Suk can finally recover from the virus and resume filming. The show will have its usual broadcast on Saturday at 6:25 p.m. (KST).

Yoo Jae Suk will no longer be attending the 2021 SBS Entertainment Awards on December 18.

Meanwhile, for "You Quiz on the Block" tvN said that the filming for this week will be canceled but will have a regular episode broadcast this week since it was already filmed in advance.
