‘Broker’ Star IU Draws Attention After She Did THIS at the Airport
South Korea's national treasure, IU, has been making headlines on local and international news as she made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival for her movie "Broker." This time, the singer-actress once again earned nods during her arrival at the Incheon airport.
What happened?
IU Shows Concern To Fans at the Airport
On May 30, together with the "Broker" team, IU finally returned to South Korea after her attendance at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival in France. Given the star-studded cast and with Song Kang Ho bagging the Best Actor trophy at the prestigious annual ceremony, it was expected that there would be massive fans waiting for them at the airport.
On her way out, IU was escorted by bodyguards due to the fans wanting to see her closer. A bodyguard pushed fans to make way, but IU immediately grabbed the guard's arm and stopped him from pushing them.
There were videos online where the actress can be heard telling the bodyguard not to push them (fans) like that. It has been said that a reporter fell because of the chaotic crowd.
The "Blueming" singer showed her concern to the reporter and asked if she was okay.

The kind gesture and concern IU showed her fans went viral on various online portals. The video also received mixed reactions, with others commenting: "IU is truly an angel," "IU and the bodyguards worked so hard," "If the bodyguards didn't do that, the order of the crowd would not be maintained," and more.
IU Withdraws From Role in K-Drama 'Money Game'
Meanwhile, IU stepped down on her role in the upcoming K-drama "Money Game."
On May 26, it was reported that the "Hotel Del Luna" lead star decided to drop out of her role as filming of the drama conflicts with her other solo activities.
The "Be Melodramatic" actress Chun Woo Hee will replace Lee Ji Eun in the project.
Last April 6, a report stated that Lee Ji Eun was offered to star in screenwriter Park Ji Eun's drama, but rejected the project due to personal reasons. Writer Park is the creative head behind the successful dramas "The Producers," "My Love From the Star," and "Crash Landing on You."
After the world premiere of the film "Broker" at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, the movie will officially premiere in Korea on June 8.
On the other hand, IU will be back on the silver screen this coming 2023 with the movie "Dream," alongside K-drama heartthrob Park Seo Joon.
