'Alchemy of Souls' Episode 20: Jang Uk Promises To Marry Mu Deok
"Alchemy of Souls" episode 20 begins with the bright and loving atmosphere in Daeho as the Songrim and Jinyowon heirs Park Dang Gu (Yoo In Soo) and Jin Cho Yeon (Oh My Girl Arin) become one as husband and wife.
Jung So Min, Lee Jae Wook
Meanwhile, Jang Uk (Lee Jae Wook) also expresses his love for Mu Deok (Jung So Min). The two go on a ring-hunting for their upcoming marriage.
After attending Park Dang Gu and Jin Cho Yeon's marriage, Jang Uk and Mu Deok plan to turn over a new leaf in Sari Village, and live normally away from the chaos.
On the other hand, Jin Mu (Jo Jae Yoon), who is in hiding, doesn't let the two get away especially after he realizes that the latter is Naksu (Go Yoon Jung), his former apprentice.

He then proposes a deal with Crown Prince Go Won (Shin Seung Ho) who grows furious after learning the truth behind Jang Uk's true identity, the man born with the King's Star.
Jin Mu Summons Naksu
Desperate to clear his name, Jin Mu summons Naksu in the form of Mu Deok by using a casting spell. As he wants to maintain his status and reputation, he appoints Naksu to do his dirty job: to eliminate the four powerful families in Daeho.
Jung So Min
Unable to resist, Mu Deok is controlled by Jin Mu's magical divinations, using her to take down the mages who killed her father.
Before she is taken over by Naksu, who is under Jin Mu's spell, Mu Deok expresses how much she adores Jang Uk despite everything that has happened to them.
The Red Wedding
While Songrim and Jinyowon enjoy the celebration of Park Dang Gu and Jin Cho Yeon's marriage, Mu Deok goes to Sejukwon and kills her biological father to stop him from snitching about the soul shifters' organization.
Mu Deok also fights with Park Dang Gu and Jin Cho Yeon who both don't hold a candle against her skills.

At the wedding venue, Jin Mu then reveals the truth about Mu Deok's true identity: that the soul inside her is truly Naksu.
With this, Jin Ho Gyeong (Park Eun Hye) becomes more suspicious that Mu Deok is the real Jin Bu Yeon, her eldest child.
Mu Deok Kills Her One True Love
Unconsciously, Mu Deok stabs her beloved Jang Uk in the stomach, killing him with her own sword.
Lee Jae Wook
When the latter calls for her, she realizes what she has done after being taken over by sorcery. Before she even mourns, Jin Mu sends her to the soul shifters' grave where she gets petrified and dies.
At the end of the episode, the man born with the King's Star, Jang Uk, rises from the dead as he is the chosen one who possesses the power of the great sky.
