Hyun Bin, YoonA, More Celebrate New Success of ‘Confidential Assignment 2’
"Confidential Assignment 2" cast and director celebrated another milestone as the action-comedy movie reached new success. According to a report, the sequel has surpassed 6 million viewers at the Korean box office!
'Confidential Assignment 2' Cast Marks New Milestone
The big news came after the Korean Film Council announced on October 2 that the Hyun Bin-starred movie garnered a total of 6,000,559 moviegoers since its theatrical release on September 7.
For almost four weeks, "Confidential Assignment 2" remained unbeatable after consistently topping the box office.
Moreover, reports also cited that the sequel reached over 6 million moviegoers faster than "Top Gun: Maverick" which garnered the same number of audience after 30 days after the debut.
Apart from it, "Confidential Assignment 2" is among the third Korean movie to reach 6 million moviegoers joining Ma Dong Seok and Son Seok Koo's "The Roundup" as well as "Hansan: Rising Dragon."
With the movie's continued success, it is predicted that Hyun Bin's movie will be a long-term box office run.
'Confidential Assignment 2' Cast, Director Celebrate 6 Million Moviegoers
To celebrate their success, "Confidential Assignment 2" cast members and director mark their new achievements with a remarkable photo.
In a post uploaded by CJ ENM, Hyun Bin, Girls' Generation's YoonA, Jin Seon Kyu, Park Hoon, and Lee Seok Hoon smiled brightly with a floral cake that said 600 marking the movie's number of audience.
On the other hand, Yoo Hae Jin and Daniel Henny appeared in a different photo by commemorating the 6 million moviegoers with a candid snap.
"Confidential Assignment 2" is a sequel to the 2017 movie featuring two detectives from South Korea and North Korea who joined force for a special mission.
Hyun Bin reprised his character as a North Korean detective named Rim Chul Ryung while Yoo Hae Jin returned as a South Korean detective named Kang Jin Tae.
For the second installment, "Confidential Assignment 2" also welcomed new faces featuring Jin Seon Kyu as the new villain, taking the role of Jang Myeong Jun, and Daniel Henney as the dashing FBI agent from the United States named Jack.

Apart from the dynamic duo, Girls' Generation's YoonA also reprised her character as Kang Jin Tae's sister-in-law Park Min Young, who is the love interest of Rim Chul Ryung and Jack.
Hyun Bin Talks About Big Screen Comeback Through 'Confidential Assignment 2'
In an interview with Sports Chosun, Hyun Bin talks about his return as a North Korean detective for "Confidential Assignment 2."
The top star revealed that he was thrilled to hear that the movie will have a sequel and said that he "would also participate if the [original] cast members all returned."
Despite playing with the same cast and team, Hyun Bin revealed that there are also changes in the film
"In 'Confidential Assignment 2,' there are relaxed aspects in every sense. I wanted to show him getting used to South Korea," he said.
Apart from the sequel, Hyun Bin is also set to star in "The Point Men" with Hwang Jung Min and in "Harbi" with Jeon Yeo Bin.
