Viewers might get to see "Stranger" season 3 with a new version. According to outlets, officials are in talks to release the drama which will be in a spin-off version.

'Stranger 3' Kdrama: Here's What We Know So Far About the Possible Spin-Off

According to Osen, "Stranger" season 3, also known as "Secret Forest" is being planned by the production team. However, the third season will be in a spin-off version, raising expectations about the drama's return.

In addition, since "Stranger" season 3 will have a different version, the upcoming drama is set to deal with a new story and show a different kind of entertainment through the variations of the characters as the series continues.

As for the cast members, it is yet to be confirmed if lead stars Cho Seung Woo and Bae Doona will reprise their roles for the third time.

Released in 2017, "Stranger" is helmed by Ahn Gil Ho, the director of "Memories of the Alhambra," "Record of Youth," and Song Hye Kyo's upcoming K-drama "The Glory."

It follows the story of an elite prosecutor named Hwang Shi Mok (Cho Seung Woo), who unravels corrupt activities with an unexpected team-up with detective Han Yeo Jin.

In "Stranger" Shi Mok's dark side was also uncovered. His past made him emotionless and cold-hearted after he underwent brain surgery when he was a child; this is to curb his violent temper, leaving him devoid of emotions.

In the first season, Bae Doona and Cho Seung Woo were joined by Shin Hye Sun, Lee Joon Hyuk, and Yoo Jae Myung, portraying characters from Seoul Western Prosecutors Office.

Meanwhile, Jeon Bae Soo, Choi Jae Woong, Choi Byung Moo, and more, play characters from Yongsan Police Station.

After three years, "Strangers" return with a mix of old and new characters for season 2.

Bae Doona and Cho Seung Woo headline the sequel with Jeon Hye Jin as the investigation department head Choi Bit, while Choi Moo Sung plays Chief Prosecutor Woo Tae Ha.

From new cast members, "Stranger" season 2 also reprised the characters of Lee Joon Hyuk as prosecutor Seo Dong Jae while Jeon Bae Soo and Choi Jae Woong as police officers.

Current and Upcoming Projects of Bae Doona, Cho Seung Woo

While the "Stranger" season 3 cast is yet to be announced, viewers get to see Bae Doona and Cho Seung Woo in different projects.

The award-winning actress will return to the small screen through the thriller K-drama "The Killer Miss Lee," set to air in 2023.

The same goes for Cho Seung Woo. After the 2021 series "Sisyphus: The Myth" he will have his K-drama comeback through the webtoon-based law drama "Sacred Divorce" with Han Hye Jin.
